หน้าที่ความรับผิดชอบ

  • Purpose of the role. The School Director is responsible to the Board of Directors for the areas specified in the Private School Act B.E. 2550 (2007) Amendment (No. 2) B.E. 2554 (2011) Section 39. In general, their role is to ensure the school is aligned with government regulations, has excellent relations with relevant government departments and has appropriate Thai programmes for all students in the school. Additionally, the School Director will serve as the Data Protection Officer for the school, and be responsible for communications between the school and the school’s Thai community (including parents). The School Director will work in close collaboration with the Head of School.
  • EDUCATIONAL LIAISON: 1. In collaboration with the Headmaster, liaise with all relevant educational departments and agencies, including: a. OPEC b. ONESQA c. MOE d. Other Thai Educational Institutes e. Local authorities, including government officials
  • 2. When working with educational departments and agencies, the School Director will: a. Update the Head of School on all relevant developments and directives
  • b. Provide translations of documents received, either in summary form or as a full translation depending on the importance c. Ensure any documentation required is completed and submitted
  • 3. Specific areas where the School Director will take a leading role, include a. Accreditation with Thai authorities/organisations (OPEC, ONESQA) and liaising with the Head of School on all other school accreditation b. Approval of the school curriculum and any planned changes, including recognition of the SBS Bangkok High School Diploma c. Approval of all types of school trips and educational visits d. Organising and hosting visits to the school by relevant Thai educational institutes or other organisations e. Supporting local Thai schools and teachers through training or other initiatives f. Assisting with recruitment of students from Thai schools g. Supporting applications of students and alumni to further education in Thailand, where necessary and appropriate, and maintaining good relations with Thai Universities and further education institutes
  • 4. The School Director is responsible for ensuring the school curriculum meets all government expectations and is responsible for leading all Thai aspects of the curriculum for students and professional development for staff.
  • NON-EDUCATIONAL LIAISON 1. In collaboration with the Head of School and relevant staff liaise with government departments, local institutions and NGOs, or where communication in the Thai language on behalf of the school is advantageous.
  • 2. Specific Areas where liaison will occur include a. Maintaining excellent relations with local Police and law enforcement in conjunction with the Security Department b. Child protection, Safeguarding and Health authorities c. Working with HR to ensure effective recruitment and retention of staff, including completing immigration, work permit and teaching licence requirements d. Monitoring school adherence to Health and Safety expectations e. Military Training for Thai national students (Ror-Dor)
  • 3. Advising the Head of School on the school calendar with regard to observing Thai cultural events and key holidays. 4. Advising the Head of School on any issue as requested and providing translation for meetings where appropriate.
  • DATA PROTECTION The School Director also assumes the role of Data Protection Officer and is responsible for overseeing the school’s data protection policy and its implementation to ensure compliance with data protection laws and best practices. The School Director is the main point of contact for all data protection matters within the school which include:
  • 1. Compliance and Governance: a. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with data protection laws and regulations. b. Monitor compliance with PDPA and other applicable data protection laws. c. Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas of non-compliance and recommend corrective actions. 2. Data Protection Strategy: a. Develop, maintain, and update the school’s data protection strategies and policies. b. Ensure data protection measures are integrated into all new projects and systems from the outset.
  • 3. Training and Awareness: a. Conduct regular training sessions for staff on data protection principles and practices. b. Raise awareness of data protection issues across the school community. 4. Incident Management: a. Lead the response to any data breaches or data protection incidents. b. Conduct thorough investigations of data breaches and implement measures to prevent future incidents. c. Report data breaches to the relevant supervisory authorities as required.
  • 5. Communication and Liaison:a. Act as the primary point of contact for data protection queries and complaints from individuals, including staff, students, and parents. b. Liaise with regulatory authorities and ensure all necessary documentation is submitted. 6. Documentation and Reporting: a. Maintain comprehensive records of all data processing activities conducted by the school. b. Prepare and present regular reports on the school’s data protection status to senior management and the board of directors.
  • 7. Risk Management: a. Conduct data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) for high-risk processing activities. b. Identify and mitigate data protection risks associated with the school’s operations.
  • 8. Collaboration: a. Work closely with IT and Legal teams to ensure data protection measures are effectively implemented. b. Collaborate with other departments to support data protection initiatives and ensure compliance across the school.
  • STAFF MANAGEMENT 1. Assist in overseeing the school registrar department, ensuring that all school transcripts abide by Thai Ministry of Education regulations. 2. Ensure collaboration between finance and registrar. Transcripts are to be released to families who have made full payments for the academic year in question. 3. Ensure collaboration between admissions and registrar. Student numbers should be updated on a weekly basis. 4. In collaboration with the HR department, registration of all teachers with the Teachers Council of Thailand 5. Management in collaboration with the Primary and Secondary Leadership Teams, including performance and growth management, of Thai teachers 6. Working collaboratively with the Head of School in times of crisis, including organising support from specialist Thai staff (internal and external)
  • CONSTITUENT RELATIONS 1. Organise meetings with Thai parents where requested by the Head of School 2. Translate communications as requested by the Head of School into Thai 3. Work to enhance the reputation of the school within Thailand and to Thai speakers worldwide
  • CHILD PROTECTION 1. Be familiar with the Child Protection Policy 2. Support the Child Protection Officers and liaise effectively with relevant local authorities 3. Ensure Thai-speaking staff (academic and non-academic) fully understand the expectations of them with regards to Child Protection (in collaboration with the Operations Director)
  • GENERIC RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Maintain a teaching role where possible and appropriate and in that capacity, fulfil the requirements of the generic teacher job description 2. Promote high standards in all aspects of school life 3. Actively support, and in collaboration with the Head of School review, the vision, ethos, culture and policies of the school in a positive, purposeful and professional manner 4. Inspire and motivate students, teachers and other school employees, prioritising positive relationships 5. Engage purposefully in the school's Professional Growth and Performance Management process 6. Attend to such other duties to support the CEO, CFO, COO and Head of School as may, from time to time, be reasonably expected.
